• Description: The Community Development Department is comprised of the following Divisions: Building: Safeguards public safety, health, and welfare through administration and enforcement of local ordinances and California Building Codes. Reviews construction plans, issue permits, and conduct inspections for building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical permits.Code Compliance: Works with property owners and tenants to obtain compliance with the Galt Municipal Code. Serves the community by answering questions and working with property owners and the public to plan for new businesses and residential neighborhoods.
